Hottrax Motorsport Sorrymate.com Endurance, Michelin Power Cup, SBK City MotoGrande, Modern Classic Superbikes, Street Triple Cup and Ducati Desmo Due Championships - 2012 Season Preview

The Hottrax Motorsport programme just gets better and better; for 2012 the quick and close MICHELIN Power Cup and Sorrymate.com Endurance classes share top billing supported by the burgeoning SBK City MotoGrande 600 and 1000 classes, along with ‘new for this season’ the Triumph Street Triple Cup, those charismatic Modern Classic Superbikes inspired by the best racing of the 1990s all to the glorious sound of the Ducatis, back for a third year. 2011 was a fantastic season for Hottrax Motorsport with close racing in all classes and this season could be even closer as grids continue to grow. This season Hottrax Motorsport is working hard to encourage Rookies – it’s never been easier to join in the action – get on the website or talk to someone! For this season, we will again embrace the Snetterton 200 and 300 track configurations after kicking off at Brands in early March. We are also plying our trade at Cadwell Park, Anglesey, and Mallory plus firm favourite Oulton and a real treat for the riders as Donington replaces Pembrey and who can argue with that?

The 2012 agenda – current at the time of writing – looks like;

• Round 1 Brand Hatch, Kent 9th/10th March – watch the bikes lap super quick around the Kent countryside

• Round 2 Snetterton 300, Norfolk 21st/22nd April – so quickly a real favourite

• Round 3 Anglesey Circuit, North Wales 2nd/3rd June – stunning track with glorious views

• Round 4 Oulton Park, Cheshire 16th June – a one day thrash around the Cheshire parkland – you’d be daft to miss it – no Michelin Power Cup, they will run at Brands Hatch GP circuit on 28th/29th July!

• Round 5 Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire 14th/15th July – flowing bends and straights with a mountain to climb

• Round 6 Donington Park, Leicestershire 25th/26th August – best track on the agenda + only 10 minutes from home!

• Round 7 Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire 15th/16th September – always mega close action especially through the woodland section

• Round 8 Snetterton 200, Norfolk 20th/21st October – the scene of 2011’s stunning finale and a close finish has been ordered for this year

The ever progressive Hottrax Motorsport have not only introduced new classes to shake things up and appeal to new faces, they have also made the first steps of getting into racing so much easier and more rewarding. This mouth watering menu includes;

• Sorrymate.com National and Clubmans Endurance Championship for teams wanting the ultimate in track time, showcasing on Saturday afternoon with a three hour thrash with all the fun of pit stops and strategies for 600 and 1000 bikes Teams may choose to use 1 machine and 2/3 riders or 2 machines and 2 riders Trophies will be awarded to top 3 in each class and to the overall Supreme Riders Champion at the end of the season.

• Michelin Power Cup – weekend meetings with 3 long distance races each weekend for quick riders – there is a substantial range of rewards and prizes, riders must run with Michelin Tyres and will receive incentives and support from the word go. Two classes for 600 and 1 litre engines Now in its third year in the UK, bigger and faster grids are on the cards for 2012, sponsors for the series include Alpinestars, Arai, Putoline Oil and Race Products so everyone’s a winner. There is a dedicated website http://www.mymichelin.co.uk/power-cup which will include race reports, a photo gallery and an area where riders will have their profiles online and will be able to follow their progress in the championship.

• SBK City MotoGrande Open Solo Championship - weekend meetings with 3 long distance races each weekend! A series of open class 600cc and 1000cc races over around 12 – 15 laps depending on the venue. For the rider that is looking for something more challenging than a short burst to the flag, it comes with two classes: MotoGrande 1000 and 600 and trophies will be awarded to the top three in each class.

• Street Triple Cup Championship – very much seen as an entry level for the naked triples from 2009 onwards, riders of all abilities can give it a go and the machines remain very much standard to create a level playing field. The championship will have a dedicated website http://www.streettriplecup.co.uk/ to help follow the action and feel a part of it

• Modern Classic Superbike and Supercup – a tasty prospect with the possibility of Yamaha YZF750s, Kawasaki ZZ7RRs, Ducati 916s – open to two, three and four cylinder machines, including 600s and riders must be 30 years or more and incapable of acting their age. This class should appeal to owners and enthusiasts for machines that formed the backbone of British and International superbike racing back in the eighties and nineties – these bikes exist in people’s garages..it’s time to get them out and give them some stick!

• Ducati Desmo Due Class A and B Championship – back for a third year for riders looking for entry level racing with an Italian flavour and now under the wing of Hottrax The championship proves popular with riders and enthusiasts alike and the sound of the Dukes makes such a pleasant change from the screaming Japanese multis.
